The name they confirmed when they agreed to sign, the email the link went to, roughly where they were, and the phone or computer they used.

Every step, to the second

Sent, opened, agreed, signed, sealed. The moment they agree to sign electronically is on its own line, because that is what a solicitor asks about. Every step is chained to the one before, and the chain’s final value is printed on the certificate everyone is sent, so a later change would not match their copy.

Any change after signing shows

The PDF is sealed as soon as the last person signs. Change anything afterwards, even a comma, and it shows when the file is checked.

The seal time comes from DigiCert, not from us

Each sealed document carries one timestamp from DigiCert, an independent company, applied at the moment of sealing. We could not backdate one if we wanted to.

The law, and where your data lives

Binding under the law of England and Wales.

An electronic signature is admissible in evidence under section 7 of the Electronic Communications Act 2000. In 2019 the Law Commission confirmed that, under the law of England and Wales, an electronic signature can validly execute a document, provided the signer means to sign it and any formalities for that document are met.

Deeds, wills and some property documents have their own rules, such as a witness who is physically present. For those, ask a solicitor. For a quote, a job sheet, a variation or a contractor agreement, an electronic signature is enough, and the sealed PDF and its certificate are the evidence if it is ever questioned.

Where your paperwork lives.

Pixacomms Ltd is a UK company, registered in Wales (company no. 15861826) with its registered office in Cardiff, and the team works from London. Pixasign runs on Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, with nightly encrypted backups in Reykjavík, Iceland. Both are in the EEA, which the UK recognises as adequate, and documents are encrypted at rest.

Email is sent through Brevo, in France. Card payments are handled by Stripe, in Ireland and the US. Your documents are yours: download the signed PDFs and certificates any time, and take them with you if you ever leave.

What is Pixasign?
Pixasign is a UK e-signature service. The document goes out from your computer, you say who needs to sign it, and they get a link. They sign on their phone without making an account or installing anything. What comes back is the part that matters later: a sealed PDF whose seal timestamp comes from DigiCert rather than from us, so nobody can backdate the seal, and an evidence certificate naming who signed, their IP address and rough location, the device they used, and a timeline to the second. If the other side ever doubts the file, they can test it themselves at pixasign.co.uk/check, free and without an account. Is an electronic signature actually legal?
Yes. Under UK law an electronic signature is valid and enforceable for the vast majority of business documents: quotes, contracts, agreements. Pixasign seals each document and keeps a hash-chained record of every step, so if it is ever questioned you can show exactly what happened.
How do I prove a signature later?
Every signed document comes back sealed, with an evidence certificate: who signed, their IP address and rough location, the device, and a full timeline to the second. Anyone can check the sealed PDF free at pixasign.co.uk/check to see that nothing has changed since it was sealed. The seal's time comes from DigiCert rather than from us, and you do not need to stay a customer.
Do I pay more as my team grows?
No. Users are unlimited on every paid plan. One monthly fee covers everyone, with no per-seat charges. Each paid plan comes with a monthly document allowance (50, 200 or 500); if you need more than that, move up a plan. Your customers never pay a penny and do not need an account to sign.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. One user and 3 documents a month, free for as long as you like, with no card. Every document is sealed and comes with the same evidence certificate as on a paid plan. Add your team or send more by moving to a paid plan, from £19 a month inc VAT.
What do I need to set up an account?
An email address and an authenticator app, such as a free one on your phone. Every Pixasign account signs in with two-factor authentication from the very first sign-in, because your documents are legal evidence: the first time you sign in, you scan a code with the app, then type in the 6-digit code it shows. You can ask it to remember a device, so you are not asked for a code there for 30 days. Your customers need none of this: they sign from the link in their email, with no account.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted and nothing goes read-only: you can still view, download and check every document, and send up to 3 documents a month. Documents you sent earlier in the same month count towards it. Anything already out for signature still completes.
What if a signing email bounces?
You will see it. Pixasign records the delivery status of every send, so a bounced or blocked email shows up against the document instead of quietly disappearing.
Can the other side check it without an account?
Yes. Anyone can drop or choose the sealed PDF at pixasign.co.uk/check and get a plain answer: sealed by Pixasign and unchanged, sealed by Pixasign but changed since, or not sealed by Pixasign. No account, nothing stored. Each sealed document carries one DigiCert timestamp, applied when it is sealed, so the time it was sealed does not rest on our word; the time of each earlier step is recorded by our server.
