Pixasign vs Yousign (now Youtrust)

Yousign, an e-signature company headquartered in France, is renaming itself Youtrust, and its website has moved to youtrust.com. Its team plans are priced per user, in euros or pounds, excluding VAT. Pixasign is one flat price in pounds, VAT included. This page sets the two side by side, from their own pages.

If you are looking for a Yousign alternative in the UK, the short answer depends on two things: how many people send documents, and whether anyone asks you for an advanced or qualified signature by name. Yousign sells both of those levels. Pixasign does not offer qualified signatures and has no advanced-signature option to buy. It charges one flat price however many people send.

Everything below about Yousign was read on its own pages on 20 October 2026, and each figure names the page it came from. Where their pages do not say, we do not guess. Yousign’s address, yousign.com, now forwards to youtrust.com.

The short version

  • Yousign (Youtrust) fits if you need Advanced or Qualified signatures, an API, Word uploads, no monthly cap on simple signatures, or a provider headquartered in France. Its Plus and Pro plans are priced per user, excluding VAT.
  • Pixasign fits if you are a UK business that wants pounds with VAT included, one monthly price whoever sends, and monthly billing with no minimum term.

Both add a timestamp: Youtrust says its simple and advanced signatures are time-stamped, and Pixasign puts one DigiCert timestamp over the finished file. Both say they host in Europe. For the law behind all of this, start with our guide to electronic signatures for UK small businesses.

Yousign is becoming Youtrust

Searching for Yousign will still find it, but the company is changing its name. Its page at youtrust.com/yousign-becomes-youtrust says Yousign is becoming Youtrust, and describes the move as growing from an e-signature tool into a “digital trust platform” that also verifies identities and documents.

The same page lists three key dates: a change of company name starting mid-May, the website moving to Youtrust in mid-July 2026, and the application migrating progressively “by 2027”. For existing customers it says “nothing changes”: pricing, contracts and support stay the same. We use “Yousign” below because that is the name most people search for.

Where Yousign is the better fit

  • You need a named signature level. The pricing page lists Simple signatures on every plan, Advanced as an extra-cost option on Plus and Pro (“Available for yearly billing only”), and Qualified from €10 each. Pixasign does not offer qualified signatures.
  • You want no monthly cap on simple signatures. Plus and Pro list “Unlimited eSignatures”. Pixasign’s paid plans have monthly allowances of 50, 200 and 500 documents.
  • You send Word files. Its Word guide says you can “simply upload your file (.doc or .docx)”. Pixasign takes a PDF, or a photo of a paper document.
  • You need an API. Youtrust sells one on a separate API pricing page, with a free sandbox limited to 40 days. Pixasign’s pages do not describe an API.
  • You want integrations and extras. The Plus plan lists Zapier, HubSpot, SMS authentication, templates and approvals. The Pro plan adds bulk signatures and document collection, and lists single sign-on as an extra-cost option on yearly billing.
  • You work across Europe. Youtrust’s homepage links to its own sites for Germany, Spain, France and Italy, as well as English.
  • You want reviews to read first. The homepage shows 4.5/5 beside G2 badges.

Where Pixasign is the better fit

  • You want pounds, with VAT in the price. Pixasign’s paid plans are £19, £59 and £99 a month inc VAT, so there is nothing to add. Youtrust’s pricing page opens in euros and its paid prices say “Excl. VAT”.
  • Several people send. Pixasign has no per-user fee on paid plans: unlimited users, with an account starting with room for 200 active people, raised free on request. Youtrust’s Plus and Pro are priced “per user/month”.
  • You would rather pay monthly. Every Pixasign plan is monthly with no minimum term. Youtrust also bills month to month, but its lower yearly prices commit you for 12 months, per its FAQ, and its Advanced signatures are available on yearly billing only.
  • You want to start free. Pixasign’s Free plan is 1 user and 3 documents a month, with no card and no time limit. Youtrust has a Free plan too: 1 user and 2 signature requests a month, plus unlimited signing of your own documents.
  • You want a check anyone can run. Every finished document is sealed with a DigiCert timestamp over the whole file. Anyone can check it free at pixasign.co.uk/check, with no account.

All of these are excluding VAT, as the page marks them. In euros, the default view, the same plans are €11, €30 and €48 a month on monthly billing, or €108, €276 and €456 a year on yearly billing, also excluding VAT. Qualified signatures are priced in euros in both views: “From €10/QES”. With more than 5 users, the page says to contact its sales team.

Free£03 documents a month, no card1
Starter£19 a month inc VAT50 documents a monthUnlimited
Team£59 a month inc VAT200 documents a monthUnlimited
Business£99 a month inc VAT500 documents a monthUnlimited

Pixasign is billed monthly, with no minimum term, and the prices include VAT. Paid plans have unlimited users: an account starts with room for 200 active people, raised free on request.

Two things make the rows hard to line up. First, the unit: Youtrust counts signature requests, which its FAQ describes as preparing and sending one or more documents to one or more signers at once. Pixasign counts documents: one PDF, however many of its up to 20 people sign it. Second, the people: Youtrust’s Plus and Pro charge for each user.

So, in plain arithmetic on the published figures. Three people sending on Yousign Plus with yearly billing is 3 × £228, which is £684 a year before VAT. Five people is £1,140 a year before VAT. Pixasign Team is £59 a month inc VAT, which is £708 a year inc VAT, for any number of users, up to 200 documents a month. Plus has no monthly cap on simple signatures; Team does. One side excludes VAT and the other includes it, so price your own team on both pages. Our guide to per-user and flat-fee pricing shows how to do the sum.

Technical details

Pixasign’s seal is a PAdES document timestamp, the standard set out in ETSI EN 319 142: an RFC 3161 timestamp issued by DigiCert over the whole file, signed with DigiCert’s RSA-4096 key and SHA-384, with long-term validation (LTV) data embedded in the PDF. The time of each earlier step is recorded by our server on the evidence certificate. Youtrust’s FAQ says its simple and advanced signatures are time-stamped and that the timestamp is included in the evidence file. It does not say, on that page, who issues the timestamp.

Not sure what “simple”, “advanced” and “qualified” mean? Our guide to the three signature levels explains them in plain English. Youtrust describes its signatures against the EU’s eIDAS rules. UK law has its own version, so if a contract or a regulator asks for a level by name, ask them which one they mean before you buy.

Where each one runs

Pixasign is made by Pixacomms Ltd, a UK company registered in Wales (company no. 15861826), with its registered office in Cardiff. The application runs on Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, and backups sit in Reykjavík, Iceland, both in the EEA. Card payments are handled by Stripe. The detail is on our security page.

Youtrust’s homepage describes it as a provider “headquartered in France”. Its pricing page says its data is “hosted in the EU”. The pages we read do not name a host or a city. If you need a French supplier on your supplier list, that is a point for Youtrust. If you simply need your documents kept in Europe, both say they are.
