Signable is a UK e-signature service with unlimited users on every plan, priced by envelopes: Pay As You Go from £2.60 an envelope, or Essentials at £40 + VAT a month billed annually for 300 envelopes a year. Alternatives worth a look include Pixasign, VedaSign, Pactivo, Legalesign, Dropbox Sign, BoldSign, Zoho Sign and PandaDoc, each for a different need.

The short answer

  • Signable suits a UK firm that wants UK data storage, a phone number to ring, unlimited users and either pay-per-envelope or a yearly allowance.
  • Monthly billing for the whole team: Pixasign (£19 a month inc VAT for 50 documents) or VedaSign (£15 a month, no VAT statement).
  • Per envelope with no subscription: Pactivo, from £0.69 an envelope + VAT.
  • A free plan: BoldSign (25 envelopes a month) or Zoho Sign (5 a month).
  • One heavy sender: Dropbox Sign Essentials, unlimited signature requests for 1 user.
  • Building proposals: PandaDoc.
What Pixasign is Pixasign is a UK e-signature service from Pixacomms Ltd, registered in Wales, company no. 15861826. You upload a PDF, the people who need to sign get a link and sign on their phone with no account, and the finished file is sealed with a timestamp from DigiCert, an independent timestamp authority, with an evidence certificate of who signed, when and on what device. Anyone can check a sealed file free at pixasign.co.uk/check. It is free for 1 user and 3 documents a month; paid plans are £19, £59 or £99 a month inc VAT, with no charge per user.

When Signable is the right choice

Signable is a Bristol company, Signable Ltd, company no. 11965482. Read on its own pages on 5 November 2026, it offers:

  • Unlimited users on every plan, from Pay As You Go up.
  • Pay As You Go from £2.60 an envelope, with no subscription. For a handful of documents a year, that is hard to argue with.
  • Essentials at £40 + VAT a month, billed annually, for 300 envelopes a year, all available at the start of the plan. Business is from £100 + VAT a month for 1,200, Enterprise from £250 + VAT for 5,000.
  • Qualified Electronic Signatures on Business and Enterprise.
  • UK data storage. Its security page says data stays in the UK, in a London data centre, and that it is ISO 27001 certified.
  • A phone number, 0800 612 6263, on its plans page.

If those are the things you need, Signable is a sound choice and this page will not change that. Our head-to-head is at Pixasign vs Signable.

Why people look elsewhere

  • Annual billing. Essentials, Business and Enterprise are billed annually. Signable’s plans page showed no monthly option.
  • VAT on top. The plan prices are + VAT: £40 + VAT a month is £48 with VAT at 20%, £576 a year (our arithmetic).
  • A yearly allowance. 300 envelopes a year suits a steady sender. Its page says going over without buying a bundle means an overage fee for each extra envelope, with no amount shown.
  • A free plan. Signable has none on its plans page.

Eight alternatives, by need

Pixasign: monthly billing, the whole team, a sealed file. One price for the account, billed monthly with no minimum term: £19 a month inc VAT for 50 documents, £59 inc VAT for 200 and £99 inc VAT for 500. Unlimited users: an account starts with room for 200 active people, raised free on request. Each finished file is sealed with a DigiCert timestamp, and anyone can check it at pixasign.co.uk/check. Free for 1 user and 3 documents a month. It does not offer qualified signatures, and documents are stored in the EEA (Nuremberg, Germany), not the UK; card payments are handled by Stripe.

VedaSign: one flat monthly fee. Its page lists £15 a month per business, with unlimited users, unlimited documents and UK-only data storage, and a 14-day trial. The page made no VAT statement.

Pactivo: per envelope, no subscription. Its pricing page lists £0.69 an envelope + VAT for 1 team member, £0.55 + VAT for up to 10, and £0.42 + VAT with unlimited team members, with no monthly minimum.

Dropbox Sign: one person who sends a lot. Essentials is 1 user with unlimited signature requests, £15.83 a month billed monthly or £140 billed yearly, on its pricing page, which made no VAT statement. Standard is £24 per user a month, or £20 billed yearly, for 2 or more users; for 5 or more, the page asks you to contact sales.

BoldSign and Zoho Sign: a free plan. BoldSign’s free plan allows 1 user and 25 envelopes a month; its paid plans are in US dollars. Zoho Sign’s free plan allows 1 user and 5 envelopes a month, and Standard is £10 per user a month, or £8 billed annually, with VAT added.

PandaDoc: building the quote or proposal too. PandaDoc builds documents as well as getting them signed. Its pricing page showed US dollars to a UK browser: Starter $35 per seat a month, or $19 billed annually, excluding taxes, and a free plan of 5 documents a month.

Legalesign: pay per document, or a small monthly plan. Its pricing page lists £1.50 per sent document, Solo Basic at £10 a month ex VAT for 1 user, and Team at £15 per user a month ex VAT for 2 to 5 users.

Before you switch

  1. Check when your Signable plan renews. An annual plan is a year committed.
  2. Download what you have signed, with its audit record, before the account changes.
  3. Count your real month: senders, documents and your busiest month, not your average.
  4. Send one real document on the new service before moving everyone over.
